Group portrait at the client’s request.
Working from a printed copy of a poorly lit, small and overexposed photograph, it was necessary to conjure up real characters and the ambience of the client’s family property, which I had never seen. The client often came during the work and used a magnifying glass to look for flaws on the faces of his loved ones. He also brought relatives to give their opinions. The painting took about six months to complete. When all the characters came to life in the end, the client was satisfied, and so was I.
